Well, we have organised meetings to talk about how we can help make Staple Hill a much greener school! Last year, we:
Put new green bags in every classroom and office to help recycle used paper!
Organised a new timetable for collecting and emptying green bags!
Organised a new timetable for litter pickers to help keep our school tidy!
Collected Asda Go Green for Schools vouchers and ordered new binoculars and inflatable recycling balls using the vouchers you collected!
As a result of all this and writing an action plan, we have already achieved our Bronze Eco Schools Award!
What next?
We need you! If you are in Year 5 or 6 then you can apply to be an Eco Tiger. We need more Tigers committed to putting ideas into action. We need 5 more Eco Tigers to join our team so if you are interested then read on!
Don’t worry though because that’s not all! We need lots of Eco Cubs to help us with our mission. Our Eco Cubs are very important to us because they will be:
Collecting and emptying green bags
Litter picking
Carrying out important jobs like energy checks
And doing much, much more!
How do I apply?
To be an Eco Tiger, you must be in Year 5 or 6 and complete a School Energy Checklist and give it to one of our Eco Tigers. To be an Eco Cub then you need to complete a Classroom Energy Checklist and also give it to our Eco Tigers.
Our team will then meet and make our choices. Don’t worry though if you don’t make it into the teams because there will definitely be jobs that you can help us with!
