Four children: Mohammed, Zachariah, Aimee and Emily went to the Every Child Matters Citizenship & Extended Schools Pupil Workshop at the BAWA. Children took part in several workshops that related to the principles of ECM:
Active for Life workshop – practiced key skills from different sports coached by sport coach.
All Different All Equal – focused on importance of including everyone to avoid exclusion of individuals just because they were different. Also tackled hopes and fears of transition to the secondary school.
Feeling Safe Matters – focused on identifying risks and assessing situations that could be a danger to themselves. Act wisely.
Scrap – junk modeling to create identified scenarios e.g. freeze-frame of a scene from favourite fairy tale or invent a game or create a vehicle using junk materials.
