I am delighted to be able to share with you news of an exciting future for Staple Hill Primary School.  South Gloucestershire Council have just officially confirmed that we are to have a completely new school built, work on which is due to begin in the Summer of 2010. 

The staff and Governors are very excited about these plans.  We will be getting a bright, modern learning environment with carefully planned indoor and outdoor learning and play-spaces.  We think we already provide an excellent education for the children of Staple Hill and expect to be able to improve on this in our new school, while also providing a modern facility for use by the local community.

There will be a story on the new plans in this weekend’s Evening Post, which, I believe, gives a start date of 2009-2010 for work on the new building.  This is not correct.  We have been told by South Gloucestershire Council officers that no work will begin until the end of July 2010.

We will, of course, keep you informed of any further developments as we hear of them.
